ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Firefighters in St. Lawrence County received good news Monday. Assemblywoman Addie Russell announced she has secured $100,000 to add to their fundraising efforts to build a new fire training center.
The current fire training center, located at the West Potsdam Fire Department, was condemned due to structural issues. A grassroots fundraising effort has been underway to replace the facility and this new money will help the group meet their $300,000 goal.
All 41 fire departments in St. Lawrence County will be able to use the new facility.
