SYRACUSE, N.Y. - After missing the past six games due to academic ineligibility, Syracuse senior forward James Southerland might finally be close to getting a final decision on his status for the rest of the season.

Syracuse.com reports Southerland will have a hearing on his eligibility on campus on Friday but a timetable for a ruling is not known. In his absence the Orange has gone 4-2 and is still tied for first place in the Big East with Marquette at 7-2, however only two games separate first place from ninth.
