Man arrested for stalking at Norfolk Middle School

By: Web Staff

NORFOLK, N.Y. -- A North Country school had to lock down the building Friday after a man with a BB gun tried to drop off a package there.

State Police say Steven Wells, 60, had been stalking one of the employees at the Norwood-Norfolk Central School. He showed up there Friday around 8 a.m. asking to see that person, but was denied access to the school. At that point the building was locked down and police were called in.

They found an imitation pistol on Wells, and after interviewing the staff member, they discovered the harassment and stalking that had allegedly been going on.

He is now charged with weapons possession, harassment and stalking.
