POTSDAM, N.Y. -- The volunteers of the Potsdam Holiday Fund are keeping up their busy schedule, preparing 330 dinners on Tuesday. These dinners will be distributed Wednesday by 55 drivers to provide families with food for Christmas.

The food was provided at cost by the Potsdam IGA. In addition, about 3,000 cookies were baked by the St. Lawrence BOCES students.

The meals include a turkey, stuffing, gravy, fresh vegetables and the cookies. Volunteers say these meals mean so much to those who receive them.

"I think for many families it's the difference between having a Christmas dinner and not," said Laura Cordts, a volunteer with the Potsdam Holiday Fund.

Last week, the Potsdam Holiday Fund distributed more 1,600 gifts to children in the community.
