Suspect arrested in overnight stabbing
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The suspect in an overnight stabbing is in police custody. Syracuse police responded to a stabbing at a home on Kirkpatrick Street around 12:30 a.m.
They say the victim, Ronald Byrne, 46, was cut across the throat and stabbed in the stomach during a fight. He was taken to Upstate University Hospital with serious, but not life threatening injuries.
Not long after, police found the suspect, Shane DeMoff, 42, down the road and arrested him. He's charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
