PIERREPONT, N.Y. -- A St. Lawrence County man was injured and a dog died in a house fire in the Town of Pierrepont.

Firefighters were called to 93 Butternut Ridge Road just after 1 a.m. Monday and it took them a few hours to knock the fire down.

Officials said the home as well as two cars were destroyed.

The homeowner was treated at the scene for a minor injury.

There's no word yet on a cause.
