CORNING, N.Y. -- A man was seriously hurt in a tractor-trailer crash in Corning. It happened on I-86 near exit 46 around 1 a.m. Friday.

Police say a tractor-trailer driver crashed while driving eastbound on the highway. The truck then went off an overpass, landing on Route 414.

The driver, Gennadiy Grebenyuk, 50, of Toronto, was flown to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. He's listed in critical condition.

Police say Grebenyuk was carrying a load of youth hockey equipment at the time of the crash.

Route 414 was closed for several hours while crews cleared the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
