Officials say when they got there, they rescued a man and a woman from the home. Shirley Naugle, 82, died from her injuries. Richard Naugle is in critical condition at Upstate University Hospital. Two cats also died in the fire.

Crews were able to put out the fire in about 15 minutes, but it caused heavy damage to the first floor.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
