BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Santa may arrive by sleigh, but there was plenty of holiday cheer that came to Binghamton aboard a locomotive on Wednesday. The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train made a stop at the Binghamton East Rail Yard.

The train collects money and food for CHOW and this year is also benefiting victims of Hurricane Sandy. Hundreds of people gathered to look at the cars decked out in lights, enjoy some festive tunes, and of course, to see Saint Nick. It's a tradition for many who knew they'd be battling big crowds to catch a glimpse of the fun.

"This year, yeah, the last two years it got really busy down here, that's why we picked a good spot in the back where we can just see everything this time," said Josh Marshall, a Windsor resident.

This is the 14th year Canadian Pacific has collected items and spread cheer in the Southern Tier.
