Former cheerleading coach charged with grand larceny

JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- A former cheerleading coach in Jefferson County has been arrested after being accused of misusing funds while on the job.

Amber Doner, 27, was hired as the junior varsity cheerleading coach at General Brown in August. According to State Police, she was given money to purchase uniforms and supplies for the team, but they say she only made a partial purchase and then quit.

Police arrested Doner after they say the school district was unsuccessful in their attempt to get the money back, which was just over a thousand dollars.

Doner did not hold any other position in the district. She has been charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree.
