Three injured in Conklin crash
CONKLIN, N.Y. — Three people, including and infant and a teen, are recovering following a crash in Conklin. It happened on Conklin Road around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
State Police say the driver lost control and the car went airborne, eventually flipping over on a nearby lawn.
The adult driver, along with a 16-year-old passenger and a 3-month-old passenger, were all taken to Wilson Hospital. No word on the extent of their injuries.
Neighbors say it was a chaotic scene.
"I heard a loud boom, a crashing sound, and then it was just panic after that," said Michelangelo Belnome, a resident. "I didn't know what happened. I didn't know what to think at first. Then we looked outside, saw that the telephone pole was down and broken, wasn't sure then exactly what happened until I noticed a car was flipped over in the neighbor's yard."
Police are still investigating the crash, but they do not believe speed was a factor.
