UTICA, N.Y. -- Lawmakers are getting aboard new efforts to boost train tourism through Utica and into the Adirondacks. Utica Councilmen Frank Vescera and Jim Zecca announced their plans Monday to hold a cross-regional Train Summit.

They want a coalition of groups to help the city to cash in on a new rail line traveling from New York City into the Adirondacks. Vescera and Zecca say potential stops and layovers in Utica could provide a much needed boost to local businesses.

The summit will be at Utica City Hall on November 27th at 5:30 p.m.
