Binghamton also announced senior forward Javon Ralling has been reinstated to the team but will serve a four-game suspension related to an incident that led to an arrest last month.

Here is the full statement from BU regarding Ralling:

Binghamton University student-athlete Javon Ralling has been reinstated to the men’s basketball program as of Nov. 8, 2012, and will be allowed to participate in all team activities, including practice. However, he will be suspended for the next four games of the 2012-13 season, beginning with the season-opener at Loyola on Nov. 9 and also including games vs. Brown (Nov. 11), Navy (Nov. 14) and Army (Nov. 16). He will be eligible to compete in the Nov. 18 home game against St. Peter’s.

At Ralling’s City of Binghamton court hearing on Nov. 5, he pleaded “not guilty” to charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest stemming from an Oct. 7 incident. His plea was accepted by the court with two conditions: 1) He must complete 80 hours of community service; and 2) The initial charges will be dropped after six months if he is not charged with another crime during that period.

Binghamton University’s Athletics Review Board met with Ralling on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 7, and recommended the four-game suspension to Director of Athletics Patrick Elliott on Thursday.

“Per our policy, I have reviewed the recommendation of the Athletics Review Board and have made the decision to reinstate Javon with the additional four-game sanction,” Elliott said. “We continue to hold our student-athletes to a high standard of conduct and accountability, and I feel that this suspension reflects those expectations.”

Ralling began his suspension on Oct. 7 and was not allowed to participate in the team’s exhibition game against Susquehanna on Nov. 3.
