NEW YORK -- A new poll released Friday morning by Siena Research Institute finds Senator Kirstin Gillibrand with a large lead against her Republican challenger Wendy Long.

The poll has Gillibrand leading Long 67 percent to 24 percent. The margin is nearly identical to the YNN/NY1/Marist College poll released earlier this week.

The poll also puts Governor Cuomo’s approval rating at 67 percent. That’s down slightly, but his favorable rating remains across-the-board high.

Voters in the poll also put their support behind President Obama in the presidential election. He has a large lead over Republican challenger Mitt Romney, 59 to 35 percent.

Also in the poll was hydrofracking. The survey showed support has increased, with 42 percent of voters supporting it, with 36 percent against.
