ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Six horses were removed from a St. Lawrence County property and a woman is now facing animal cruelty charges.

The County Sheriff’s office arrested Rose Malone, 50, Thursday morning.

Deputies say they found six horses in need of immediate medical attention on Buckton Road in the Town of Stockholm. All six horses were removed from the property and one later died.

Malone is facing six counts of animal cruelty by neglect.
