JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- Some North Country residents can expect to hear military aircraft and even explosions this week, but don't be alarmed. Air National Guard units are practicing close air support bombing runs at Fort Drum.

Officials say F-16 jets from units in New Jersey and Vermont will be exercising runs through Friday.

Most of the activity will be done at night to simulate typical combat operations.
