FRANKLIN COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Franklin County man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the death of his father. Police say Dale Jarvis Jr. killed his father, Dale Jarvis Sr., by hitting him in the head with a blunt object in February.
Jarvis Senior was found buried in his backyard in July.
Investigators say the son changed his story multiple times during the investigation, which made him the main suspect.
"The defendant told at least five different versions of where his father was. That his father went off with two people, that his father left for a job downstate, that his father left with two men in a dark colored SUV," said Derek P. Champagne, Franklin County District Attorney.
The District Attorney announced Tuesday that Jarvis Jr. finally admitted to his involvement in the crime. He will be sentenced in November.
