MARCY, N.Y. - The Whitesboro football program is traditionally one of the best in the area and the Warriors expect to be serious playoff contenders again this season.

Whitesboro has made the Section III Class A championship game three-straight years, winning in 2009 and 2010 then losing last year after starting the season 9-0. The Warriors return the majority of their linemen which is a necessity for success with their preference to run the ball but they do need to replace several skill players who were lost to graduation.

Whitesboro opens the season Friday, August 31 at neighbor Rome Free Academy, reigniting a rivalry that has been dormant for three years.
