FRANKLIN COUNTY, N.Y. -- The former director of the Saranac Lake Youth Center was sentenced Friday.

Michael Scaringe, 61, was convicted of raping a 13-year-old girl. Police say it happened at his home in Saranac Lake in December of 2009. He was arrested in January of 2010.

A jury found him guilty of second degree rape, second degree sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Scaringe was sentenced to a maximum of seven years in state prison and seven years of post-release supervision.
