ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- A lawsuit between the Village of Potsdam and a Canadian equipment provider has ended in the village's favor.
Village administrator David Fenton says they will be receiving more than $6.8 million for liquidated damages.
Back in 2007, the village created a contract with Canadian Turbines to provide all the equipment for their west hydro dam. Village officials say they should have received all the material by April of 2008. To this day, they have yet to receive all equipment needed.
Currently, they are working directly with the suppliers to finish the project.
Fenton says the village will begin taking action to obtain the millions of dollars owed. He says they plan to begin generating power by December.
