BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- UFC star and Binghamton native Jon "Bones" Jones will pay more than $7,500 for drinking and driving this past spring. Jones was sentenced for DWI Tuesday morning.

$1,000 will go toward a fine and the rest will be restitution payment. Jones was given a one year conditional discharge. The judge also revoked Jones' driving privileges for six months and any car registered in his name must have an alcohol interlock device.

Jones was arrested after crashing his car into a utility pole in May.

"I made a major mistake, a mistake that I apologize for and definitely acknowledge. You know, paying the consequences for my mistakes, and I just wanted to say thank you to Broome County and the people that support me most. Thank you for sticking with me throughout the situation. And, I am definitely prepared to do whatever I can to make it right and do things better in the future," said Jones.

Jones must also follow up with a victim impact panel.
