ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- A horse in St. Lawrence County is the first in the state to die from the EEE virus this year.

The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department confirms the horse in the Town of Morristown tested positive for the virus. They say there have not been any confirmed human cases of the West Nile virus or EEE in New York State this year.
