UTICA, N.Y. -- A Utica man has pleaded guilty to leaving a false bomb in a hotel bathroom earlier this year.
Albert Duffy, 49, admits to putting two partially burned road flares in a bathroom toilet at the Scottish Inn in Utica back in February. Officials evacuated the building and called a bomb squad as a precaution.
Duffy has been charged with placing a false bomb or hazardous substance. His sentencing is scheduled for September.
