NORTH COUNTRY, N.Y. -- With a shortage of volunteers, the American Red Cross in the North Country is looking for some help.

The agency will have 15 training workshops in Watertown and Potsdam through the end of the year to help get some new recruits.

Although Red Cross officials said they're looking for Disaster Action Team members, they said they also need more blood donations.

"We have blood drives in all three counties and we really are looking for volunteers that help us register people at blood drives or even hand out a snack and the summer is especially pertinent to have volunteers because our blood, we're short on blood in the summer," said Jane Gendron, Red Cross Community Chapter Executive.
