Chiefs, IL shut down as PCL wins Triple-A All-Star Game
BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Syracuse Chiefs' four all-stars combined to go 1-for-8 with four strikeouts and allow one run in one inning as the International League fell to the Pacific Coast League 3-0 in the 25th anniversary game at Buffalo's Coca-Cola Field on Wednesday.
Zach Duke gave up a run on two doubles in the fourth inning, Corey Brown went 0-for-4, Carlos Rivero went 0-for-2, and Buffalo native Jim Negrych went 1-for-2 with a single. The IL team overall was held to just five hits.
Syracuse begins the second half of the season Thursday night at home against the Yankees.
