SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The new Ronald McDonald House should all be complete in about three or four months, which is by the end of the summer. The progress on East Genesee Street is really starting to show.

The new home will include 39 guest rooms with private bathrooms and a dual kitchen. The handicap accessible facility will be about four times the size of the current facility located across the street.

The new house is being made possible by a $6 million capital campaign which officials say has gotten strong support from the community over the past six years. Officials say they're about a half million dollars away from reaching that goal, but are appreciative of all the support so far.

"The support from the community, which has been broad based throughout Central New York, folks, businesses, organizations, bake sales, have really been the foundation for this project. It has taken many hearts to build this one home and we're looking for continued support from the community," said RMH Executive Director Beth Trunfio.

You can continue to show support by purchasing a brick paver with your name that will be placed on the outdoor patio of the house. Learn more about the new house by visiting www.cnyronaldmcdonaldhouse.org/newhome.
