Police investigate crash in Camillus

ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Route 695 in the town of Camillus was closed for several hours overnight while authorities investigated a crash. It happened just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police said a man was driving his Ford SUV on the highway when he suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The vehicle then rolled into a ditch near the Route 5 interchange.
The driver was pronounced dead as a result of the gunshot wound. No other people or vehicles were involved in the accident.
Camillus police are still investigating and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call them at (315) 487-0102.
