CANTON, N.Y. - The top-seeded St. Lawrence women's basketball team advanced to the Liberty League championship game with a 56-55 win over Union in the Burkman Gymnasium Wednesday night.
Junior Erica Spera hit the go-ahead layup with less than a minute and a half remaining and the Saints held on for the victory, setting a new school record with their 18th consecutive win in a row.
SLU (21-4) will host Vassar in the conference championship game Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm with the winner earning an automatic berth into the D-III NCAA Tournament.
