It’s another legal victory for Syracuse University in the defamation lawsuit against the school and head basketball coach Jim Boeheim. ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The defamation lawsuit against Syracuse University and head basketball coach Jim Boeheim is being moved to Syracuse. The decision was made just before noon Wednesday by State Supreme Court Justice Brian DeJoseph, who heard arguments from both sides on Tuesday.

In December, Bobby Davis and Michael Lang filed a lawsuit in New York City, claiming Boeheim defamed them after they came forward with allegations of sexual abuse against former associate coach Bernie Fine. Attorneys representing Boeheim responded by filing a motion to have the trial moved to Onondaga County.

Lawyers for the stepbrothers then filed a cross motion to keep it in New York County.
Both sides appeared in State Supreme Court on Tuesday. Davis and Lang's attorneys argued their clients would not get a fair trial in Syracuse, citing the economic and emotional presence the school and longtime head coach have in the area.

SU’s attorneys said jury selection would weed out those who might be partial during trial.
Justice DeJoseph ruled Wednesday morning to grant the change of venue to the defendants, Syracuse University and Jim Boeheim, and denied the plaintiff's request to keep the case in New York City.
