ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Canton residents have voted to move forward with a $15 million dollar capital improvement project to improve the district's schools.

The plan is split into two propositions. The first focuses mainly on replacing the heating and ventilation system. It passed with a vote of 606 to 103.

The second proposition will address structural and security concerns in the middle school and also repair the athletic fields, specifically the track. It passed 485 to 202.

The project is primarily funded through state aid, EXCEL aid and the school's capital reserve funding.
