JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- Documents signed by Abraham Lincoln, Napoleon Bonaparte and Susan B. Anthony are all part of a new display at the Jefferson County Historical Society.
It's called the "Gems" exhibit, featuring 400 years of various artifacts. Besides the signed documents, there's a mariner's map from the 1600s, paintings, Civil War weapons and even a murder weapon from a murder in the 1800s at the Madison Barracks in Sackets Harbor.
The museum says the Lincoln documents were in rough shape when they were found and it owes a big thanks to the community for pitching in and helping get them repaired.
"It's priceless. Here we are, 126 years old, and we're not getting any younger. The things that we have, some of them really need to be preserved and restored. That makes it possible and it's good for future generations," said Bill Wood of the Jefferson County Historical Society.
Many of the items on display were donated by the family of former New York State Governor Roswell Flower.
