Marcum scheduled to be in court next week
TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Fort Drum solider who escaped military custody last week will not appear in Lansing Town Court as previously scheduled.
Russell Marcum, 20, is facing numerous felony charges, including additional counts of burglary for the vehicles he allegedly stole during a two day manhunt.
Marcum had already been charged with burglary in Jefferson County before he assaulted another Fort Drum soldier and escaped custody.
Troopers were able to arrest Marcum after he turned himself in without incident last Saturday in Tompkins County.
Friday's hearing was waived. He'll next appear in court on Thursday.
