ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Playing pro ball is a big dream for many kids and for youth in the North Country, they get the chance to learn from a pro-athlete during the Brian Leonard Football Camp.

Every summer, the Cincinnati running back hosts the camp for local kids. The weekend long camp kicked off Thursday and is at SUNY Potsdam this year.

Kids get hands on learning from college coaches as well as pros. The kids work on their throwing, running and teamwork skills, skills that could take them to the top.

Tupper Lake Central sophomore Tim Ropas said, "I never would have dreamed that I would go to a football camp, let alone play with a NFL football star that's been through a lot. Hopefully I can get to where he's at."

Leonard said, "A lot of these kids don't have the opportunity to go to camps around the county, so I brought a camp up here. I bring talent scouts up here."

The camp will also host a youth coaching clinic.
