The murder trial of Wayne Oxley, 40, continues today in the North Country. He is accused of killing his neighbor Bernard Trickey with a baseball bat last year in Ogdensburg.

A detective involved in the investigation took the stand Friday. He said Oxley denied killing Trickey numerous times during an interview and claimed his neighbor, John Shannon, borrowed the baseball bat found in Oxley's basement.

Shannon, who was a key witness in the case, was found dead in his burning home one month after the murder. Shannon's son is set to testify today.
