In day three in the murder trial of Wayne Oxley, jurors got a glimpse of the baseball bat police said Oxley used to beat his neighbor to death. Oxley, 40, of Ogdensburg, faces charges for killing Bernard Trickey in August 2005.

A forensic pathologist who took the stand said Trickey was hit in the head five to ten times with a blunt object. A detective who testified said he found a baseball bat and bloody paper towel in Oxley's basement.

The defense attorney said he believes the bat was just one of the weapons used.

"There was also baseball bats in Mr. Trickey's house, and if you recall the testimony of the pathologist, he said there could have easily been more than one bat," Defense Attorney Richard Manning said.

Oxley's murder trial continues Thursday.
