BUFFALO, N.Y. -- It's a big day in Buffalo -- it's Dyngus Day! The ritual of Dyngus Day has been celebrated for hundreds of years in Poland. Since then, Buffalo has become the self-proclaimed Dyngus Day Capital of the World.

Celebrations kicked off Sunday night with the annual Blessing of the Instruments and continue on Monday with a parade and plenty of polka music.

Dyngus Day, a Polish-American tradition, is a celebration for those who have fasted and sacrificed for Lent.
