Governor Cuomo is calling for a new program to safeguard those he calls vulnerable New Yorkers. In 2011, there were more than 10,000 claims of abuse against those with special needs or disabled who are receiving services from state funded programs. The Justice Center, proposed by Cuomo would set new standards for care and put in place a mechanism to discipline those who violate the new rules. YNN's Bill Carey says the Governor took to the road in Syracuse to press for quick legislative approval.

Six months after ESPN broke the story about sex abuse allegations against SU assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine, the network is now facing the possibility that they will have to defend their reporting in court. Today, Fine's wife, Laurie, announced she is suing ESPN and two employees over their coverage. Our Erin Clarke reports.

SUNY Potsdam is taking its sustainability initiative to a whole new level. The college is ranked as one of the most environmentally sustainable colleges in the country and has incorporated it in all parts of life on campus, including the commencement ceremonies. As our Cara Thomas tells us, students will be wearing biodegradable caps and gowns.
